I originally shot this one a few years ago, just got around post processing it this week. Playing with some new texturing processes in photoshop, I like the final version. Let me know what you think.. I would love some feedback on my prints.

This is a new print that I have been working on. It features a vintage looking sailing vessel similar to a Cutty Sark under an ominous looking sky. The original shot was taken in San Francisco on the Bay.. Let me know what you think.
Flowers are one of my favorite things to shoot. I go crazy every spring and summer, it is my favorite time to shoot outdoors. So many colors, so many shapes, so many smells. I get a little depressed during the winter, but I have my virtual garden of thousands of shots of flowers to scroll through on snowy days. I love them in their natural form, but I also enjoy playing with textures and overlays in Photoshop. Photoshop is sooooo powerful, the possibilities are endless. I can’t even draw a stickman properly, but in my little photoshop studio I can turn my everyday pics into little works of art. I learn a lot of new techniques by just playing around, I have been using PS for about 10 years so I am pretty proficient now, but youtube has thousands of videos. If you ever want to play with textures, that is a great resource. I spend hours scouring through site like deviantart.com and pinterest looking for textures, brushes, overlays, actions, etc… Many photographers are purists, my better half especially, they seem to feel like anything other than what the sensor recorded is not real. I agree with their point to an extent, but I also feel like it is my shot I will do what I want with it.. hahaha.. Here are a few that I have done, if anybody is interested I can post a tutorial or some links.. Thanks for visiting and have a great day!!
I call this shot The Fisherman. I shot it a few years ago while vacationing in Key Largo, Florida in the Keys. It was early in the evening and I was out waiting for some good sunset shots, not too hard to find in the Keys, when I saw this lone man fishing out on a natural jetty. I snapped a few shots not sure if they were anything I could use. After playing with this one a bit with some textures, brushes and overlays, this is a final result. I am pleased with it, I hope you enjoy it also. Let me know what you think.

The Florida Keys are filled with beauty everywhere you look, Everything from the absolutely stunning sunsets to the wildlife to the ocean scenery. But some things are right out in plain sight and many just walk by them everyday and don’t take the time to notice the beauty. That is how I came across this old wooden dock in Islamorada, that I had walked by several times and not even taken a second look. Then one evening, as some ominous storm clouds rolled around in the background, the dock just seemed to pop out. As I looked at them on my laptop, they just didn’t hit me like they did while I was there. I played around with some HDR toning and this is what I came up with. HDR is something that can easily be overdone, but I wanted this shot to have that dramatic look.. I like it, I hope you like it too 🙂

Not many fish get a saltwater fisherman more excited than the “Silver King” or the Tarpon. The Tarpon is incredibly smart, thus making it a very elusive fish to catch. They get huge and are ferocious fighters leaping into the air and running of yards of line at a time. This Tarpon was shot near the docks of Robbies Marina in Islamorada, Florida in the Keys. If you get down that way, a visit to Robbies to feed the hungry Tarpon is a must. Get a small bucket of fish to feed, by hand, a the masses of very aggressive Tarpon. The braver you are, the better the show. These silver beauties will come out of the water after the bait. It is a sight to behold and even if you are a chicken it is a blast to watch the people freak out when the Tarpon come out the water at them. Screams of excitement fill the air. I wanted to finish this shot with an abstract look, so I used several layers and textures for the end print. It looks amazing as a very large print on metallic paper.. I hope you enjoy viewing it.

This is a shot that I captured several years ago at a local botanical garden (I love botanical gardens). Through the years I have enjoyed looking at the shot, but decided to play with it a bit and give it a really unique look. Several layers, a little HDR tone mapping and some overlays and it looks gorgeous (Well at least I think so) Let me know what you think!

Just added some new prints to my Etsy shop. I have been playing with textures and overlays onto floral fine art shots. Spent a few hours this last Sunday at a local botanical garden with my trusty ole Canon. Not a whole lot to shoot yet, but there were some nice plants and flowers starting to bloom. I shot the beauty above, not sure what it is but I really liked the way it looked. This plant was almost purple with very shiny seed pods covered by long hairs. I processed the shot in Photoshop, added some overlays and finished it off with some texture. I am pretty happy with the outcome, it looks like a painting. I have several floral photo art prints in my Etsy print shop. Please check them out and let me know what you think

This is an experimental piece that I am working on. I shot the original portrait, which is a friend and his newborn daughter, a few years ago. The original was done in duotone and was a very powerful shot. I wanted to take the shot a whole different direction so I textured it and added a couple of overlays. It is still a work in progress, but I like where it is at in this state. Let me know what you think
