For many years I spent the week from Christmas day through the first week of the new year in the Keys. The weather is always great, the fishing is even better. Several years ago, I met the guy that lived on this gorgeous sailboat. For most of his life he lived the life of a land lubber, married to his high school sweetheart for his whole life. They shared the same dream of some day retiring and living on a boat for their golden years. But, the dream was not to be as his wife died of breast cancer about 4 years before this picture was taken. She made him promise to keep their dream, to which he did. He spends his days educating visitors on eco tours in the Everglades National Park, which is how we met him. This particular shot was taken on New Years day after a little rain storm had blown through. The rainbow was awesome as the skies cleared and the sun came out. Looking out at the single digit temperature today, how I wish I was down there again enjoying that beautiful sunshine. Someday when I retire, I will get to enjoy it year round. Happy New Year!!!!

I originally shot this sailboat a few years a go in Port Lucaya in the Bahamas. I am always a sucker for a sweet looking boat of any kind. It was end of the day as the sun was starting to set over the bay. The original shot was almost black and white with the boat being a silhouette as the sun was behind the boat. I have printed a few of the original and it looked nice but was missing something. I played with a bit tonight and added sun sun flares and bokeh to it and a little color. I am pretty happy with the final piece, but let me know what you think.
